Optimum cargo securing

Products in improved design and material offer more time savings

Efficient cargo securing using lashing straps and lashing tracks is essential to secure thousands of loads for road traffic that are on the move every day on European roads as well as worldwide. Manufacturers of cargo securing accessories develop new products every year with improved material, design and engineering as well as manufacturing and thus offer more flexibility, time savings and safety on and in transporters.

Cargo securing with form fit

To effectively secure loads on and in transporters, a so-called form fit is suitable. In this case, the entire loading space or loading area is loaded with goods in such a way that the volume is fully utilised. No gaps are left between the items that could possibly cause the load to tip or slide. To further secure this fit, we offer, among other things:

  • Semi-circular airline tracks prepared for mounting
  • Multi-part airline track starter sets for different sizes incl. end caps and fittings
  • Lashing straps with integrated ratchet for quicker and power-saving fixation of the load
  • Drawbar boxes and tool boxes for securing accessories and tools on transporters
  • Cam buckle straps with and without protective underlay
  • Lashing chains
  • And much more

Lashing tracks as effective securing

Lashing tracks and airline tracks can be optimally recessed in the vehicle floor. The rails are fixed with M6 countersunk screws, which are fastened at certain intervals on a stable surface, for example. Practical end caps can be used to cover sharp edges and prevent damage to goods or cardboard boxes.

Commercially available lashing straps can also be attached with the aid of fittings. Many fittings also have an intelligent design that includes a spring mechanism that makes it much easier to lock the fittings inside the lashing track.

Types of cargo securing for transporters

In order to secure a load, vehicle drivers should take certain measures in advance – with a view to avoiding accidents while driving. There are basically two different ways of securing a load: tie-down lashing and direct lashing.

However, tie-down lashing is the most common way to secure a wide variety of items during transport. Tie-down lashing means using special lashing straps to press the cargo onto the loading surface with a force fit. This makes it possible to increase the micro-interlocking of the loading area and the goods being transported, and also the friction. The force of friction is therefore responsible for fixing all objects on the loading area. In tie-down lashing, the load is secured directly by lashing straps that are hooked in at the side.

Cargo securing perfectly organised

Cargo securing products from the lashing strap category are often equipped with a ratchet so that the tensioning element can be secured without much effort.

In order to ensure accident-free transport of the most diverse objects, experts recommend the tie-down lashing variant. In order to obtain an exact pretensioning force, there are certain guidelines that can be used to calculate this.
