Securing the cargo in the transporter

Prevention of property damage and personal injury

It is often necessary to transport various goods and loads, and this is regularly done by means of lorries or transporters. In this type of transport, it is mandatory and crucial to secure the load appropriately against slipping or similar unwanted movements during the journey. Appropriate equipment is available for securing the load, which can help you to prevent potential damage and avoiding posing a hazard to road traffic.

Less slipping due to anti-slip mats

Anti-slip mats are made of rubber and are often specially coated on both sides. Due to the rubberised texture of the anti-slip mat, the cargo has special traction with the mat and thus with the transporter floor. This largely prevents uncontrolled shifting of the load.

Lashing with lashing straps and lashing tracks

Another popular way to secure cargo in the transporter is with lashing straps. With their help, the goods to be transported are lashed down and thus sturdily fixed in the transporter. Even in the event of a necessary emergency braking or evasive manoeuvre, the load is securely fastened by the lashing straps, ensuring protection from personal injury and property damage.

In order to fix the lashing straps at various points, lashing tracks are usually attached to the floor and walls in the transporter to secure the load. These are often made of lightweight yet very sturdy aluminium. They can be mounted and used flexibly in the transporter. Once installed, they allow fittings to be attached inside the built-in rails. With a lashing track, it is therefore possible to quickly move individual or even all lashing points variably and thus accommodate loaded goods of different sizes. This principle makes it possible to easily and yet safely meet the requirements of the load to be transported with the help of a lashing track.

Individual lashing points can also be mounted in a transporter. They can also be used to fasten fittings, e.g. those of corresponding lashing straps or also cargo securing nets. Similar to the lashing strap, the cargo securing net serves to fix the load in the cargo space. Thanks to the net, boxes, for example, can be easily secured against sliding around and falling over in the load compartment and possible damage can be avoided. The material of a cargo securing net can vary depending on the area of application and may be particularly light, or extra-resistant to ensure that it is sufficiently robust even when used with heavy loads.

Securing with shoring beams and cargo bars

Usually made of aluminium or steel, a shoring beam offers a flush form fit with the loaded goods. These beams are adjustable in length and can, for example, be attached to a lashing track as required. They particularly help to secure the load to the rear and thus prevent the load from sliding or tipping over when accelerating or cornering.

Cargo bars, also mainly made of steel or aluminium, can be easily adapted to the required dimensions and integrated into the existing cargo securing concept. Their ability to adjust their length makes them ideal for securing the load.

Simple cargo securing with little equipment

Cargo securing should not be left to chance. Missing or insufficient safety devices can quickly lead to personal injury or property damage. Furthermore, the number of cargo securing inspections is constantly increasing. If cargo is found to be secured inadequately, high and expensive fines may be imposed. The various possibilities and aids for securing the goods to be transported should therefore always be looked into carefully. Even with just a few measures, such as an anti-slip mat and lashing straps, you can secure the load professionally and well and thus ensure that the transport runs smoothly.
